Legalisation of a signature is used to authenticate the signature of private documents (documents drawn up and signed without the presence of a notary) with an official signature.

Diplomatic and consular chancelleries are authorised to authenticate documents that have previously been legalised by the Monegasque administrative authority concerned.

The fee charged for the legalisation of a signature is 26 euros per legalisation (Order no. 15.881 of 22 July 2003 setting the tariff of chancery fees).
