Monaco renews its support for the OSCE in the fight against human trafficking

On 8 July 2026 in Vienna, H.E. Lorenzo Ravano, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Monaco to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and Dr Kari Johnstone, OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, renewed the funding agreement for the programme entitled "Combating Human Trafficking: Supporting Inter-Agency Co-operation through National Simulation Exercises."
By renewing this partnership, the Principality reaffirms its strong commitment to combating this scourge, which disproportionately affects the most vulnerable.
In practical terms, this OSCE programme provides hands-on training for experts with the following objectives:
to strengthen multi-agency cooperation;
to improve the identification of human trafficking cases in mixed migration flows and the referral of victims of trafficking to assistance providers;
to promote victim-centred protection and assistance, while encouraging proactive investigations into cases of human trafficking;
to develop strong and practical cross-border networks among practitioners.
Since its launch 10 years ago, the programme has provided training to more than 1,000 professionals working in this field.
