Embassy of Monaco in Germany celebrates the 21st Anniversary of the Accession of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince

This year's reception held particular significance as it also marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Principality of Monaco and Germany.

Held in the presence of Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the reception brought together nearly 300 guests, including Christoph ISRANG, Director-General for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office, more than 70 Ambassadors, as well as leading figures from the business, financial and cultural communities and friends of the Principality. Several of Monaco's Honorary Consuls (Munich, Hamburg, Potsdam, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart) also attended, together with the President of the German International Club and around thirty of its members.

In her address, Ms BERRO-AMADEÏ highlighted the strength of the relationship between the two countries and the wide range of areas in which they cooperate. As a recent example, she referred to the inauguration by the Princely Family on 29 June of the Monaco-themed area at Europa-Park, Germany's leading tourist attraction. The Minister also emphasised the values shared by Monaco and Germany, including their strong commitment to multilateralism.

For his part, Mr Christoph ISRANG praised cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and the oceans, as well as the many shared success stories, particularly in the world of sport, citing German skipper Boris Herrmann and Team Malizia as a notable example.

Following performances of the two national anthems by two members of the Berlin Diplomatic Choir, guests were invited to watch a slideshow retracing 75 years of shared history between Monaco and Germany.
